Star wars: Stories. Khan Solo – Review with spoilers

Yesterday I looked at the second non -reproach episode of the star wars “Khan Solo”. In short, I was satisfied and I decided to write a review by fresh impressions. But I can’t without spoilers, because the main claims are just to them. If you are afraid, there should be a clean version in the KinoPoisk. Well, I would like to discuss one issue related to the ZV in general.

Initially, back in December-January, I was very negative about the concept of the film about Khan Solo. Probably 8 episode played a role. But over time, looking at trailers, I have interest. Walking to the cinema, I was waiting for a typical “Film about crooks”, like “11 friends of Ocean” or “bluff”, only more gloomy and in space. This is what I received, more or less, so I did not remain disappointed.

The music is standard, the picture is beautiful, the action is on top. Plot … The plot is very good. It is not naive, it is not noticeable in it, there is a conflict and contradictions in it. Strong, good drama that let and does not knock out a tear, but makes you think and analyze the actions of the characters. Since we have a taboo for discussing the plot, with them (characters) and we will do.

The characters turned out to be lively and convincing. The only thing that is important to understand is: the main character here is not a khan, but Kira (Emilia Clark).

In principle, it happened – he has nothing to do with the original hero, only “costume” (starting from clothes and ending with Chubakka and Falcon) the same. In the film, he acts as a connecting link between the characters who are trying to make from a disgrace, ever grinning boy … I don’t know that. Probably an adult, in their understanding.

But, and this is important, Olden Erenraik plays well. It is expected to imitate the original “better pilot of the Galaxy”, but the first frame shows a very serious, tense guy. All his grin “show -off”, they are intended for other people, they are by no means always sincerity, it is clear that he is depressed by his problems. But Ford smiled in the film constantly and as if just “in life”.

Good Donald Glover in the role of Lando. He is much brighter than a swindler of the 5th episode, which is not surprising – there he was a secondary character, but here almost in the main roles.
I have nothing to say about him – he is pleasant, charming and quite simple – cheerful cards (and not only) shuler.

Interesting and funny droid Calrissian L-3. He/she is a rather witty and neat satire on feminists and fighters for the rights of everything and all. Especially her frivolity is revealed in the stage with Kira, where L-3 “broadcasts” on its wave and, obviously, completely incorrectly understands the situation of the interlocutor. For some reason, many very negatively reacted to the promotion of liberal values ​​in the film. I do not understand how to seriously perceive the speeches of a indicative of a comic character?

But what really did not like is references and cameo. They have already become simply disgusting, producers shove them in every film, completely not caring about artistic value or elementary logic. There are two of them. I warn, then spoilers go further, for both scenes are at the end, so at their own peril and risk.

Firstly, the leader of the looter gang, which is in counterattack with Becket (strange cyberpunk Papuas in a helmet with horns from a trailer). At the end, we received the standard Join The Rebellion agitation!”. Without it, the character looked much more integral and interesting, and the uprising here is neither to the village or to the city. Well, it just does not fit, it should not be up to any rebels, full of his problems.

The second episode is associated with the main cat of Schrödinger of the All Galaxy.

He finally looks like an evil evil, he is terrible, he suppresses a goosebump from him, but … what he is doing in the frame? In both senses: from the point of view of the “Chekhov rifle” it is not functional – it is unlikely that in the next films it will appear or will have a related plot. But okay, one could put up with this, but that he begins to create in the literal sense? For some reason, he put on a hood before the communication session, for some reason he took him off during a conversation why he pulled his sword with force and waved to them on camera … Why? His actions are not lending to a logical explanation and are more like a monkey croaking on camera than a solid person’s behavior.

As a result, the ending, although it is replete with plot twists and is generally good, but its delay is felt. The entourage plays even more for this-the last scene takes place on a deserted planet, the spirit of Western is most felt here, and the film crew began to play-there are too many long plans, where someone goes somewhere or looks at the distance. Theoretically, it should be a catharsis before the final scene, but there are several of them, which knocks and tires.

Summarizing, the film is good, dynamic, complicated, it even has something to think about, no matter how scary it sounds. And the ending is also good, but for me personally, it is slightly soaked with such episodes. The franchise slowly but surely crawls to a serious movie, but now and then “Helles” come from naive Lukas’s fairy tales.
This, in fact, is my question. Is it necessary at all a Lukasovo heritage? The universe of the harsh and unprincipled cyberpanus of the distant galaxy has already been bought out, and, in my opinion, it is time to throw out the unfortunate chronic resistive people with the rebels, the brutal empire and the Skywalker clan from the steamer of our time. Here is such a paradox – nostalgia only interferes.
